STR55T x JUJU PEOPLE: Far Away From Home
STR55T Editorial · Moscow · August 28, 2026 · 2 min read
Democratizing culture isn't just about letting more people in — it's making sure what gets let in stays real. STR55T builds a culture archive: pieces meant to be worn and lived in, not just photographed, so what's real about them survives past one season. JUJU PEOPLE does the same work in media — podcasts and community, unfiltered and organic, keeping the diaspora's own story in its own hands instead of someone else's edit. FAR AWAY FROM HOME sits right at that overlap: two ways of spreading culture wide while keeping it exactly as it actually is.
STR55T — read "Street Fifty-Five." We make streetwear for creative youth who refuse to be ordinary. One rule: no copies, no compromises. Real always wins. Ordinary doesn't move culture. The name is a coordinate. Moscow sits at 55°N — that's where the 55 comes from. Everything we make — tees, hoodies, sweatshirts — is built to be lived in and felt, not just photographed. Our editorial runs alongside it: a live archive of what's happening now in Culture World.
Since 2016, JUJU PEOPLE has built -- and is still building -- a home: a media and community brand for the diaspora in Russia. 94K strong, 27M views, one community, one voice. With podcasts, panels and culture, no filter -- all family and organic. They call their world the hut, and the mask worn across the FAR AWAY FROM HOME collection is theirs -- JUJU PEOPLE's own emblem, reworked as a garment graphic instead of a logo bolted on top of one.
Every piece in the FAR AWAY FROM HOME collection is hand-printed -- no two exactly alike, each one unique to whoever wears it. It's a limited quantity, prepared specifically for JUJU PEOPLE: BANANZA on August 30th, made for genuine lovers of African root culture. A batch, not a factory run.
At the JUJU MERCH stand in Winbox, the FAR AWAY FROM HOME collection goes on sale in person, first. It's the one shot to actually touch the fabric, try it on, and see every hand-painted piece up close before anyone else does. No online drop first, no restocks, no second chances -- once the rack's empty at the pop-up, that's it.
FAR AWAY FROM HOME launches live at JUJU PEOPLE: BANANZA, JUJU PEOPLE's Day of African Culture festival, at Winbox in Gorky Park, Moscow, from 12:00 to 23:00 on August 30th. Three podcasts recorded live, three stages of music from the diaspora -- rap, afrobeats and amapiano -- a food hall from JUJU FOOD, a market, and JUJU MERCH: the festival's own limited, venue-only merch drop, where the collection lives.
